Nascens

Venture Formation Intelligence

See the venture before the pitch.

Most programs assess ventures by feel — a mentor's instinct, a committee's impression. Nascens tracks the six dimensions that determine whether a venture is forming, validating, or ready to advance, and tells you what to do about it before the next session.

The problem

Every program runs on intuition.

A founder submits a pitch on a Tuesday. A mentor reviews it, adds a note about team dynamics, and recommends advancing — or not. The program committee makes a decision based on three paragraphs of impression and a ten-minute conversation. The reasoning isn't recorded. The signal isn't structured. The outcome isn't tracked.

A year later, the program director cannot tell which interventions worked, which cohorts were stronger, which mentors produce better outcomes, or why any particular venture succeeded or failed. Every cycle starts from zero. Institutional knowledge walks out the door with every departing mentor.

Nascens is built to change that.

The six dimensions

Every venture, the same signal.

Nascens normalizes every interaction — a pitch deck, a mentor session transcript, a demo day feedback form — into a structured 6-dimension signal vector. The dimensions are the same across every venture, every cohort, every program.

The compound thesis

The database is the product.

From the first venture interaction, Nascens provides guidance derived from the LLM normalization layer — labeled novel to be precise about its basis. That guidance is useful immediately.

But the real value compounds. As your program processes ventures — dozens, then hundreds — every signal vector joins an anonymized population database. Stage transitions become empirical, not estimated. Comparable ventures surface from the record. Guidance migrates from novel to comparable to established as the evidence base grows.

The threshold is approximately 500 venture interactions. Below that, Nascens provides LLM-derived guidance — honest, structured, and consistently applied, but not yet population-grounded. Above that threshold, the system begins to behave differently: guidance references real comparable trajectories, and confidence intervals narrow. The architecture is designed for both states.

Three entry points, one intelligence layer.

University Programs

Entrepreneurship centers & I-Corps nodes

Annual cohorts, faculty-led review, NSF reporting requirements. Nascens structures the formation signal and produces outcome data that demonstrates program value to funders and deans.

Accelerators

Seed & pre-seed programs

Multiple cohorts per year, mentor networks, investor demo days. Nascens gives managing directors a population view across cohorts and lets mentors see the ventures they're most equipped to help.

Accelerator programs →

Mentor Networks

EIRs, scouts, and angel syndicates

Individual mentors working across multiple ventures, often informally. Nascens gives them a structured view of each venture's signal and flags where their domain expertise maps to the binding constraint.

Early access

We're looking for anchor institutions.

Nascens is in early-access engagement with university entrepreneurship programs, accelerators, and mentor networks. Anchor institutions help shape the product, contribute early population data, and receive preferential pricing in perpetuity.

If your program processes more than 20 ventures per year and you're interested in systematic formation intelligence, we want to talk.
